~Be Still My Heart~

~Be Still My Heart~

A Poem by Frieda P

There is a stillness in poetry's posey

nourishes my soul and elevates my senses

takes me places I've only dreamt

I pause in it's quietude    serene     listening

to the rhymes in the stanzas of ballads

lullabies that melodiously float in mid air

Transports me on a magical quiescent carpet ride

        sonnets of pure unadulterated posies

moments that set the world scintillatingly radiant

I could stay awake all night bathing in this light

consummated in sublime silken baubles of conception

awash in this silent world of suspended animation

Another radiant write from you which elevates the senses as you say and touches the instruments of the hearts...
A new day and a new refreshing poetry...:)

The place we go when we write is a place of peace and solitude. We control what happens there... no hurt can come to us at the hands or mouths of others. It is our private oasis... love this one sweetie!! xo

Private oasis, I love that thought, thanks Red! x
Silence is solitude, poetry enacts this silence of voice, but opens our minds to serenades of wonder and beauty. This, my friend, is how I feel every time my mind floats off silently in one of your beautiful poems. At once I am seperated from the noise and commotion of every day life and transported to an enchanting wonderland filled with fields of pristine posies and peace. Very beautiful Frieda.

:D Thanks ;)
Is it any wonder so many writers are night owls? If we can silence the never-quietude playing on low frequency in the back of our minds long enough to find space to take a breath, we usually fill that space with the words and writes of those we hold dear....that or wine. A lot of time we fill our empty spaces with wine. ;)

Awash in this silent world, indeed.

Hmm I think poetry slows down the breathing to a peaceful pace, thanks CM.

I think when we allow ourselves to luxuriate in stasis we are able to regenerate our strength and reevaluate our surroundings.

There is a stillness in poetry's posey

There is indeed.
