~Be Still My Heart~

~Be Still My Heart~

A Poem by Frieda P

There is a stillness in poetry's posey

nourishes my soul and elevates my senses

takes me places I've only dreamt

I pause in it's quietude    serene     listening

to the rhymes in the stanzas of ballads

lullabies that melodiously float in mid air

Transports me on a magical quiescent carpet ride

        sonnets of pure unadulterated posies

moments that set the world scintillatingly radiant

I could stay awake all night bathing in this light

consummated in sublime silken baubles of conception

awash in this silent world of suspended animation

Another radiant write from you which elevates the senses as you say and touches the instruments of the hearts...
A new day and a new refreshing poetry...:)

When you write poetry, Frieda, magic happens. Your words take me on a "quiescent carpet ride" filled with wonder that I wish would never end. Thank you for sharing:)

love the words in this "bauble" and the whole line awash in this silent world of suspended animation. Yes, that's poetry.

Glad you enjoyed it Stella.
Have I ever quite acknowledged your natural taste for titles? They always, and I mean always, capture the essence of a poem well; as with the calming ambiance within this one.

you are welcome
Although in adulation of poetry there seemed something not so grateful behind this; baubles of conception and world of suspended animation seemed to have an ache about them. Perhaps "to sleep perchance to dream" !

Sometimes poetry makes me ache John, thanks.
This has such a serene vibe to it. Love your word choices and the structure of the poem.. Adds much to the poem itself. Great flow!
