~Dancing in Winds of Poetic Embrace

~Dancing in Winds of Poetic Embrace

A Poem by Frieda P

Wind at my back, held in its embrace
zephyrs with an old familiar, intrinsic face
swaying to tousle my disillusioned locks
stood at the precipice to surrender the fray
peculiar compositions of asymmetrical stanzas

I stared into the chasm's eye of cloudy disdain
realizing there was little of verse for me there,
you brought me sonnets of harmony instead
sun's allusion glitzed a gleam through the flurry
I wantonly danced to the rhythm you released

thats how I feel reading a Frieda poem. Not exactly sure what you mean or what you are putting out there but you do it so well I'd be willing to accept anything

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." - Carl Sandburg.

This poem sounds as if it could be put to music and we could spin and twirl around the dance floor to the tune. It doesn't matter if you have the rhythm or not, just dance. Very lyrical and very lovely.

My pleasure
This one has a nice, musical quality to it. It needs a beat and some rhythm guitar.

I've got a beat, do you play guitar?
I love when poetry is so luscious that it makes you want to dance. Your piece has that effect. Beautifully penned.

Ah yes, nothing better than dancing to get you out of your own head, thanks so much Lori.

When we find that different focus that allows us to dance it is a magical thing indeed. You have a very specific Poet's voice. You don't give a poem out easily (in meaning) I have to read your work and put thought to it. It is lush writing and a little cloaked at times, almost enigmatic. And always rich in word and meaning.

This is sultry like a tropical breeze. It's beautifully free and inviting. Dance, always dance because we all make our own music.
