A Sunder

A Sunder

A Poem by Frieda P

My skin worn thin, my mind deluged
recesses of the heart cobwebbed with time
digging up past trespasses from the fold
its vice grip like an implosion of the soul
'let no man put asunder' holds no meaning
where was god during the proceedings

In the depths of the damage of the ripping apart, the desire to call on a deity...any deity....to make us whole again is natural for a survivor like you, Frieda love. Ultimately, you have to find that `god` inside yourself to pull you out, don`t you? This moves me. P.

God does have a way of being elusive, doesn't he? In the harsh realities of Life, we seek his help from outside ourselves - only to find that, like poetry, he's within us. A gripping write, as always, Frieda.

Probably God was there, just not paying attention.

Think he was watching the rugby lol!

Nice as always, full of passion and bitterness; such perfect pathos.

Yes I curse him and the devil when I am alone in the dark as I fear neither.
Such simplicity and yet such depth. "The recesses of the heart cobwebbed with time"--so very true and striking. Love that line. You never disappoint, though I feel sometimes as if I can't leave as much feedback as i would like to because there is nothing to critique!

Ha well I'm not going to squawk about that, thanks so much Friday, you made my day!
Always a question to ask... what God gave us was freewill and unfortunately some men take advantage of it.

Awh thanks Holly, you're amazing, love this review, thanks so much!
Sometimes what we seek can not be found unless we open up and let it wander in. It will come with no bright lights and glitter, but opening your heart and mind will be the invitation and I truly believe that one will be excited by the party when the guest of honor arrives. Nice Freida, but sad.

And she ends the bout with an uppercut to the jaw! Knockout!!!!

This was the very definition of poignant. It's not easy to pack meaning, feeling, honesty and beauty into 5 short lines....but that's exactly what you've done here.
