Audacious Pomposity

Audacious Pomposity

A Poem by Frieda P

cast of grey within her shadow
cloak of feathers caught on high fire

struts her hubris down the pike
lofty pretension parade in vain

no sense in bodacious apologies
all those she's wrecked are stone cold deaf

drained of all exuberance
a simple splash of flash

drowning

in her own presumptuous pomposity

Hahahahaha

This sounds like a write about me! :D :D :D
You reach a point when you realize no matter what you do, somebody somewhere will be offended. Apologies become fewer and further between for simply breathing the free air.

Teasing aside..
You have penned a clear message for some peacock. :)
Fun wording!

It made me think about all those ridiculous people who think they're more important and beautiful than everyone else. Don't they realise how ugly that is?

I often wonder if some people own mirrors or have any common sense, it's not so common these days...

Ha I don't doubt you dated her Mark :-)
I would point out the word you seek is "vain" not "vein" (unless, dear god, this woman is parading through your vascular system, in which case, eekgads) but I wouldn't want to sound pretentious, so I'll give it a pass this time ;-)

God do I know these women...you've really painted a nice picture here with your words...I could just see her, strutting around...awesome. Great stuff.

Deliciously twisted this Frieda. Obvously intended at someone and one wonders how many read requests you've send out for it? All asking the same question by return.

Ha 'deliciously' twisted' made me smile, thanks Ken!
Again you strike us with rich, voluptuous language from title to last type! I do wonder who these strong, gracious feminine figures are you frequently present, one can only wonder.. And this is a strength in your writes alone. They present a sketch for the reader to colour in with their own experiences, we can all relate to such a figure, regardless of who you originally cast a shade of!

Great read Frieda, so exited by your work!

So if you asked me 'Would you Snog, Marry or Avoid her' She'd be daft and say Marry or Snog whereas I'd avoid her, at all costs, haha! Sounds like trouble to me!!!

"all those shes wrecks are stone cold deaf" - love the line...(I think "shes" needs and apostrophe "she has")

I love the imagery of this one...it's an interesting and somber piece, yet one filled with intense emotion. A little "window" into the soul of a person, whoever that person may be. Well written, my friend.
