Audacious Pomposity

Audacious Pomposity

A Poem by Frieda P

cast of grey within her shadow
cloak of feathers caught on high fire

struts her hubris down the pike
lofty pretension parade in vain

no sense in bodacious apologies
all those she's wrecked are stone cold deaf

drained of all exuberance
a simple splash of flash

drowning

in her own presumptuous pomposity

Hahahahaha

This sounds like a write about me! :D :D :D
You reach a point when you realize no matter what you do, somebody somewhere will be offended. Apologies become fewer and further between for simply breathing the free air.

Teasing aside..
You have penned a clear message for some peacock. :)
Fun wording!

Fantastic, as always. I think we all know someone this could pertain to.

Brilliant! I don't know who this woman is, but she sounds like someone who could make your otherwise sweet day turn sour.

Give a beautiful woman arrogance and a feeling of superiority, and the damage she can inflict with a single glance is worse than a beating

Hahaha there's a line! Thanks...
Splash of flash; o, how amused I am as I imagine the dark scene taking place. Memories playing within a span of mere seconds; a whole life summed up to a fallacious ending.

'cloak of feathers caught on high fire'
Yes the very expression reminds me of many people. Amazingly described. :)

Thanks so much for your visit & review, I think we all know at least one of these people ;-)
I'm not sure what a high fire is. I think that word "high" detracts from the poem. other than that, it's a nice piece of work!

"All those she's wrecked are stone cold deaf." How fun it is to mock those who stut their stuff like idiots (super modles, Paris Hilton and like like) but this sentence right there say's it all...simply because...what if she's wrecked herself? AND SHE KNOWS IT. Therefore she's unappologetic.

Such a sassy poem. I like it.
