~Twice Forsaken

~Twice Forsaken

A Poem by Frieda P
"

I often wonder what my sisters last thoughts were...

"
I pleaded for God to rescue me
my face gleaned the precipice
the eternal abyss so enticing
a leap of faith to peace
seemingly no other answers
i spoke to the trees in desperation
they barely rustled, gave me no sign
lifted my arms to the sky in despair
forsaken by yet another father
life, devoid of promise
i breathe one last breath,
descent not a far fall,
            took the plunge
& floated on a soft zephyr

You really do know how to squeeze the hell someone's heart and pull dire emotions straight from their gut. I just got back to my office, while I was out I was listening to "November Rain" by G&R, (One of my favorite songs) I had the stereo cranked full and was feeling great and then...I returned and I read this and I realized I have no right feeling so good when others feel so bad inside. Truly Frieda, I loved this and hated it. It is beautiful, the thoughts are beuatiful and the words are beautiful, the circumstance that prompted you to write it is not. You still amaze me, that is the sign of a great poet, to have the ability to affect people and make them think. I can assure you, your words alter my world.

Thank you dahling, much appreciate you.
You are honestly one of the most prolific writers I have ever had the pleasure to meet. This is raw, real and moving.

Well dear lady you deserve it.
Have stood
Upon the edge
Between life and death
Waiting for that zephyr
To push me
Over.

Knowing
The desperation
For the soul's peace
When mortally hurt
By a love one.

Frieda, I can feel your pain and the turmoil of your heart. This is a powerful poem, a reminder that Life is not always kind, nor does it provide the answers we desperately need.

Sigh..there's always such deep emotion when you write about your sister. I don't know what it is like to lose one the way you did but I know it must be heartbreaking. We never know the why's in life....just the what that comes after. ..x

There are no words sometimes, your support here is enough, thanks Red xo
As always a very meaning ful poem about your sister. I know you still agonise over her death but in reality we never understand even though we may know the reason. Lay her to rest and write of her memory not her demise. She was a beautiful woman.

Hard to separate the two entities John, they just meld together unfortunately.
