I Sit Quietly...coffee, joy and poetry

I Sit Quietly...coffee, joy and poetry

A Poem by Frieda P
"

just some random thoughts...

"
i quietly sit here, content in my coffee, eager to read you
coffee's aroma wafting in the air and the luxury of your words
rain hits my sill and i'm ready to dip into the day within the cafe
i wonder, will i peer into your soul or watch you dance before i flip the page
where has your muse taken you on your flight, i've been brought here,
to bask in the glory of words that make us who we truly are
we twist and manipulate for them to shout or softly whisper
this is a part of me, a part of my soul, be gentle and kind
i present before you all that is me & mine, my darkness and light,
my hopes and ambitions or just a simple nod with your caffe
i smile knowingly, i'm on the same page, eagerly waiting to be greeted too
pouring my thoughts and grievances into you as well
i ramble on wondering where do i begin, and where do you end
i savor the words and take them under my skin
good, bad or indifferent, they make some kind of impact
a lunatic, a friend, an acquaintance that's made touch, a poet to the end
as I babble my elixir is cooling but not the heat of your intentions
where shall I begin, perhaps share a cuppa to seize this day
one lump or two, it's all up to you

Ah... I see you are "content" Frieda. The ability to turn our eyes outward and enjoy the musings of others is growth. To touch anouthers soul like you touch the pages of their writing is to seek to kow and heal others.
I love this attitude. I admire someone who can take such joy in others.
Yes, we are selfish creatures. This is our nature. Yet this write shows that our needs can be met as we embrace others.
Maybe in being protective of our selves and our trueset joy, we should remember we gain the most when we reach out to embrace anouther.
You have given my heart such a lesson today in this write Frieda!
Thank you friend.

This is wonderful Frieda. You have captured the real spirit of the poet, from those dark depths through to joy, love, happiness and nonsense.
It's all there in those words and the best poems are always those from personal experience, I think, because we have lived them!
Bravo!

Poetry really allows us to release but more importantly it gives us a chance to reflect on our inner most thoughts. There is a quiet beauty to this one.

Much appreciate your visit and review Kristin, yes, always to coffee! ;-)
it is all about sharing those parts of us which we would otherwise leave unknown, but something about dipping that quill into the inkwell of our souls is irresistible and viable, bringing a tangible reference to our thoughts and making an impact on those with whom we share. you are a wonderful distraction to an otherwise mundane and lonely existence, frieda...and a part of my life that i could not bear to lose...thank you for enriching my life and the lives of so many others with your presence here. another wonderful write.

i love this, i have so often found myself in the midst of poetic exhiliration, and i've carried my inspiration from door to door, looking for someone to share my excitement

Hahahaha, exactly! :-)
this is wonderful,very poetic..
how i felt the same when coming to the cafe, and opening pages
i listen to your words,i see them dance,i hear you,see your soul
and i too show you,all dreams and thoughts, never hold back
its like in showing you all,i would like to see you too
make two world mingle too close, and see what comes of it
you make a step i come closer, encourage you to react
you give me happiness when you come inside and i catch you there
for then i could read you clear,i sensed your words,as you swollowd mine

Poetry... Why we share and read that shared from others... I was just writing on this exact topic! Anyways, for me too, it it to see into the heart and soul if another. Just me in this world I have created, how could I understand better all the nuances of humanity than right through your eyes, and as poets that is how we share.

And yeah, I'm sipping my coffee right now too.. Happy am from Cali:)
