"Nourishment from your host feeds my passion,
I drink you like wine in gulps of insanity
it courses through my veins, a fluid, rhythmical tonic"
A beautiful poem. The above lines are amazing. Poetry should take us to better places. The great Poet's left sacred poetry. Now it is our turn. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Thanks for this great review John, much appreciated.
Is nourishment supposed to have that effect? I just got hungry and I don't know why...what can I say about this piece of lusty poetic decadence? It's a high-riser...and it's in my library ;P

Oh my, dear Frieda, yet another piece of glory but built in another place. I think and feel this as a metaphorical mix of oft-forgotten biblical areas, and the scribed Persian poets of long, long ago, when words were magic spells, lures, demands - and daily used! Probably.
Words are the aphrodisiacs of every period in history.. else, we wouldnt still be here; consider a language, any language without the word ''yes'!

My review reads a bit formal but do mean every word.. PETAL! :)
"I plunge into you with the abandon of a lusty courtesan
you etch onto me as you dip your quill to pen this sacrament,
bleeding an exuberant cornucopia of enlightened words "
I like how you blended a touch of religion or its symbolic ritual ( in this case Catholicism )
with definitions or meanings of poetry and how it should be looked at with respect afforded to religious services. This is a unique write and I feel a little rejection of religious dogma and in favor of the freedom and artistic creativity we have in poetry where as religion can be rigid and dogmatic... Another bravo dear Frieda...:)
Going in my faves...:)

This is thinking, writing, reading and percieiving. A thought for a thought. I liked the use of words here. The poem is moulded with fine words in an aggressive fashion. Cool.

Ha you flatter me, I hardly think I can do all those things at once Maryanne!
To me it is a ritual to knee before your poetry, allowing it to wash over me and anoint my mind with thought and questions. This was dark, yet free, like the wings of a dove, I hover before your throne and beg your blessings. This was so very cool. Different and beautiful. I wonder if I may borrow your dictionary some day or maybe a small piece of your mind, I need to know. How do you do this? You are one amazing woman.

Oh geez Jack, you're making me heady with this review, thanks so much!! xo
you have captured the very essence of a poets existence. this is gorgeous. there are those out there who may call this sacraligious , if so, they are indeed missing the whole point and need to get a grip....but the naysayers have no poetry in their souls, no love in their hearts and no understanding of art. this is exquisite, and should be the preface for your published works.

No need for me to attend Mass today; you have provided grace, received with the right disposition! Poetry is sacred and sacramental, infusing the soul of she who consecrates and she who receives... awesome.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
