Pea Soup

Pea Soup

A Poem by Frieda P

the sun lost its memory
we picnicked on the moon
with laughter from long ago
i brought my pillow for dreaming
you fell asleep without gravity,
specifying the appetizer was cold
our intermezzo drowned in deep pea soup
              ...we opted against leftovers

Where do you come up with this stuff, I don't get it. Is there a guru inside you somewhere telling you all this. You really are uncanny. Is prophetic your middle name? Hmm. Very strange how you can come up with such interesting poetry. Hmm again. Yeah, hmm. haha

I liked this alot! I could spend many minutes finding different interpretations, but the emotions conveyed through word choice and brevity reached me deliciously. Thanks for posting,

Thanks for your visit and reviewing Rain, I'm really happy you like this one.
Tis a bittersweet blessing in this moonlit darkness to know that pea soup is an aphrodisiac... But how the rains dampen the feast...

Ha, no I didn't but why do I get the feeling most 'anything' is an aphrodisiac to you?! xo

this is lovely
so glad site presented this jewel to me on sign-in
but, it's "its," when possessive (I do that all the time, and wouldn't mention, either, except that typos make me stop uneccesarily in reading)

My Achilles heel, I do it all the time, thanks for the review and letting me know.
Interesting, but I really like this. With a sort of comical side to it. Get's you thinking a bit about whatever or things in the past that pop in the head.

Very interesting and surreal poem. I enjoyed the anti-gravity feeling of this piece. It is strange and light, but executed well and easy to envision pieces of what you have written.
Great job!

Save me a seat on that ride i want to go along. i want to look back on the little blue marble of Earth and realize how insignificant we are. Everything that we hold as history happened here. Everyone we ever loved cared about or admired lived and died on a floating marble out in the endless vacuum of space

There is something about this poem that's telling me to put it into my favorites. Your use of words here is simple and classic enough to keep me bedazzled. These are fragments of many memories skillfully crafted into fine verse light enough to be loved.

I was joking about the twilight zone. This seems like it's been plucked from the land of Oz. I picture all things unusual, bold colors, and deep hues of the rainbow shadowed by the moon.
What, pea soup? very unusual piece
