Tethered Darkly

Tethered Darkly

A Poem by Frieda P

crush me with a morning sunsmile
tipsy on the perfume of mushroom wine
disrobe your heart to sophomoric cries
lessons learned from naked souls
convoluted with screams for clemency
softly sways the voice of discernment
tethered to the teetered backlash,
pivoting on a quiver of echoed bumbles
of spasm'd arrows flung in poison offense
lip service on silver platters hold no purpose
rephrase the resplendence forgotten
sans promise, enchantment falls on fire

I love the imagery and the wording here-- "tipsy on the perfume of mushroom wine" and "convoluted with screams for clemency". There is pleasure here, but also pain...and I get the sense that this is a bit of a love unrequited piece. Pleasure is not as beautiful "sans promise"; I enjoyed this feel. Well done, as always.

Sounds like the enchanter has met her match? What a fiery piece here. I had to read this around three times. Almost seems like an erotic exorcism taking place. Your writes as of late are taken to new levels. Whatever you do, don't stop.

Ha, 'erotic exorcism' I like that, thanks my friend.
Wow, it's been a long time since I've read your works, and I should say, not a least did your skill depreciate! it's otherwise!

Now, this is some read. The first line made me smile. I don't know why, but I think it has that devilish tone or whatever. And I brought that with me till I ended the piece. Meaning? It was so good ;)

Hmmm... those poison arrows certainly can fly, can't they? Brilliant write! Though, the idea of mushroom wine... can't say I'd imbibe on that! :)

Oh I love mushrooms, there actually is one made from Shitakes I think, thanks so much Rita.
Mushroom wine sounds dangerous- as does holding on to anger. As Confucius said: If you embark upon a journey of revenge, dig two graves.

Woweeeee! I loved this, it was very metaphorical.

"tipsy on the perfume of mushroom wine" - Loved the imagery. I can sense the pleasure here but I can tell there is also pain.

I had to read it a couple of times to get my spaghetti brain around it but wow, you always amazing hun, it was amazing.

Ha you just figured that one out John, thanks. :-)
Lip service on silver platters hold no purpose.

I believe this one line says it all.

Your creative juices are flowing (must be the mushroom wine). The undercurrent of this piece floats bouyantly to the top and crashes to the shore like an determined wave. very nicely penned my friend.
