Hit me with your best shot

         this is not my first rodeo

you might think

                you can out maneuver me

      I've dealt with far superior

who can run rampant around you,

I only give as good as I get....

so, fire away...

     I've ammunition packed

           from now til doomsday

it's  those exactly like you

             who've clinched the deal

i used to run the other way,

in my younger days, now I take a stand

         this old soul,

        can take much offense and heat

if you don't wanna play with fire 

    stop playing these games

           there's hardly satisfaction 

when you diss me to the hilt

  & then change up the rules

      there's only one in this game

you get as good as you give, 

              there IS no other way

I try very hard to not let the subject matter of a poem influence how I read and review it, but it's impossible for me to simply comment on the poem in this case. When I was younger, I would have killed for some of the bravery I have now. Nowadays, forget the bravery, I would just kill some of the people I went to school with. School was a very fearsome place for me, they all had a hand in killing my childhood...anyways I better stop since this is the first thing I've read today and I don't want to risk being bitter all day by thinking about this. It's in my library, I think that says it all :)
