...do you want to know a secret?

...do you want to know a secret?

A Poem by Frieda P

you looked into my eyes
said you read a secret there
i blinked and you were gone
secrets destroy more than one...

"Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret."

Nice poem, Ms. F.
For me, it depends upon the secret to be shared. If it is about yourself, I'm going to listen because you just want to make your burden lighter. But if it is about someone's story, I will be gone in a blink of your eye because it is gossip. Lol :)

That's true but I'm good at keeping secrets, mine or others. Weighs not on me basically because I don't care.

Not too many are capable of doing that, thanks Junert.
A delicate write Fp on a subject matter that is avoided because....... "people don't want to know"..... your so right. The picture you have posted here with this profound write says it all..... you just have to look at they way she bows her head she's suffering, wanting badly to talk to someone. if her problem was shared she wouldn't look so sad in the picture. There are lots of ways of dealing with such secrets... and it starts with listening. :o)

Your welcome.... a problem shared.... they say.... is a problem halved...

:O)
What is one person's resposability to anouther? If we listen, then are we bound to the soul that released their pain to us? I think sometimes the answere is yes and somethimes no. We do have the responsability to treat each person with dignity and to touch those who are hurting... Still, in this life, those interaction are often briefe and temporary even if honest and meaningful. It is this fear of obligation that causes many to do nothing and the expectation that when fear is overcome, the gift is never enough.
I like the write. I know where it comes from and where you were going with it. I went off track a bit... just my thoughts.
I loved the tight delivery of this powerful thought!

Beautiful. This touched me. Do you want to know a secret? I think you are a fantastic poetress. Just look at this work, it is so sad and feels so very real. I truly love the way you express yourself.

No, I don't want to know any secrets if they destroy people.
