For me, it depends upon the secret to be shared. If it is about yourself, I'm going to listen because you just want to make your burden lighter. But if it is about someone's story, I will be gone in a blink of your eye because it is gossip. Lol :)

It`s a sad fact that many - most - people cannot share the burden of other peoples baggage EQUALLY. They`ll take on some - and more, if they have the capacity, but the heavy bag carriers are few and far between. Nicely said, sweetypie. P.

We all have secrets....some darker then others. Pain...hardship...mistakes...abuse. If you can't accept someone as they are then its best to move along. Really like this one..you were short and precise here ;-)

Depends on how the secret is shared and what it is. Dhaye has a point. I abhore gossip and before letting the door slam, I have a tendency to call people on it. Big pet peeve.

Yet, if someone needs to share, needs a confidant, to ease their pain/conscious/etc... then I understand when secrets serve a purpose for an individual.
