...do you want to know a secret?

...do you want to know a secret?

A Poem by Frieda P

you looked into my eyes
said you read a secret there
i blinked and you were gone
secrets destroy more than one...

"I blinked and you were gone

Nice poem, Ms. F.
For me, it depends upon the secret to be shared. If it is about yourself, I'm going to listen because you just want to make your burden lighter. But if it is about someone's story, I will be gone in a blink of your eye because it is gossip. Lol :)

no, it's okay. It reminded me that now, I've known better. Thanks for this. :')
Some handle secrets better than others.
I was once given a tour around a friends home, and she opened a door to a totally black room. Everything was in black. She stood at the door and just smiled.
Funny, she may have had a black room, but she had a heart of pure gold. Interesting contrast, I thought.

Thanks Onyia-ota, glad you enjoyed this one.
I hadn't a sparkle of a secret in here, more of a mental illness along the lines of schizophrenia. Insanity always enticed me, and this all the more.
However, I see your intelligent style now that I've reread it. The first fight, beginning with an accusation; then soon enough time is lost and so is the lover. Secrets not only destroy yourself, but they destroy others as well. Reminds me faintly of.. The Memory Keeper's Daughter.

Very interesting review Tai, thanks so much for your insight.
And once again, I know what you're talking about. Either we're similar, or I have issues and think everything's about me :S Anyway great write and that picture's really cute. Sad, but cute.

Sounds like it hurt, thanks Neva!
others cant read the secrets our eyes are hiding unless we feel we like them to read such secrets..we allow only the people we love to read our eyes secrets..and it is not a secret that..you are the poetess..

So kind khalid, thanks, sometimes not even the people we love....
The search goes on until that person is found-the one who loves you enough to want to know your secrets, share them and not hold them against you. Intimacy of the soul.
