Since I'm on my phone I couldn't listen to Evanescence while reading this. You're painting in dark tones today my friend. Sending you butterflies to carry you to that beach Nirvana for some positive restoration. This poem packs an emotional punch... another signature piece. :-)

Yes my lights got mixed in the with darks and now we have shades of grey, thanks so much Red!
Can I suggest something to you? Sometimes, I lose the music in your poetry. I get an overload of exquisite phrasing that, I feel, would link better by using sentencing....for instance...instead of "...raining torrents of spent injustice...." , maybe "...gardens wilt under torrents of spent injustice under grey metallic thunder..." It doesn`t have to happen all the time...and you don`t need to punctuate it , either. Just a thought. P.

' bleeding it somber shades of inky sorrow ' .. a wonderful though tragic phrase but then, you've used a sadness of words all the way through your poem, Frieda, Thank goodness for sleep's escape.. just awful though - waking up.

Thanks Emma, so glad you can appreciate my quirky sadness.
You know how to capture and expose the shadowed side of the heart which makes your relationship with grief no secret. The two of you have met. Nice pen once again my friend. ;)
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
