Silent Echoes

Silent Echoes

A Poem by Frieda P

My deepest voice
 is swirling round my head
trying to connect the dots
            of the puzzle you presented
i wanted to lay down and die
who's the one still breathing,
only the soft whispers saved me

standing arms extended
at the edge of this cliff,
setting fire to the reflection
would it be a welcome flight
or could it start this trip all over again
should i meet you halfway
would your wings catch my fall

does splendor in the grass lie below
or is it hiding in a falling star
beyond a blackened cloud,
spinning back to earthly reminisces
 all that's left is
dark silence that beckons

Sometimes you are magical. You are...here!

"or could it start this trip all over again
should i meet you halfway
would your wings catch my fall" - No words for this unbelievable poetry.

"does splendor in the grass lie below
or is it hiding in a falling star
beyond a blackened cloud,
spinning back to earthly reminisces"

You made the contemplation so incredibly magical. Shimmering poetry Frieda! Hats off!

Doubts, doubts and more doubts, Frieda? You`re a glutton for punishment, I`ll say that! You need to stand on that cliffedge, wrap up all those doubts in a parcel...and sling `em off! P.

That dark silence can look inviting, but i have a feeling that dark is not good, in this case.

I'm not sure if inviting is the word, but it does lure one in at times like these, thanks Barbara.
This Frieda is a rather haunting piece. As always elegant and flowing and expressive and emotional.

Wow! This piece is extremely gorgeous; it is dark and beautifully penned, the word plays stunning and love how the story unfold in a bitter sweet and comforting end. It is always worth to read Frie, Keep kicking!

Breathtaking...there is always an element of soul-searching in your writing, but it feels as though it's been ratcheted up in your recent stuff...of course this may be me applying my own soul-searching expedition to the words...whatever the case, I'm blown away once again by the power of your poetry.

I felt your voice...tugging at your stomach strings. It is tempting at times to just jump...and float away. There's always that hope that the people who know you best will catch you half-way....but sometimes the weight of our soul is too much to carry...so we take a step back...and hide in the dark...or walk away.

You got it in one...that's so it Muse, thanks for this insightful review, much appreciated!
Despite the fact that we can't go back and change the past we often relive the darkest moments over and over. Personally i believe there is more then dark silence both in life and after it ceases. What that is remains to be seen. I know you don't want to make the same choice as that precious one did...but going on may seem to hard to bear.

Sorrowful - I cannot say that I have personally felt this despair, but I have seen it in others. You have bravely offered your truth, and I hope the writing has relieved some of the burden. A raw and powerful piece. Thank you for sharing.

somehow i think you know that death is not the end...it is a common fear amongst those of us who have fallen and lost our faith. there is a real experience which awaits us when we leave our bodies...you know of what i speak. it hurts me to see you in such pain, but i understand what it is you are going through..you know this too. this write carries all the guilt you feel for something over which you had no control and had no part in. i hope this was a cathartic write for you...it has made me feel your pain in a deep and profound way.

This write delivers a strong feeling of displeasure and belligerence. Now that is deep and not one is sure how to end this kind of feeling but to make a statement like this in such form will surely make one quite light-headed. I felt every morsel of it.
