Silent Echoes

Silent Echoes

A Poem by Frieda P

My deepest voice
 is swirling round my head
trying to connect the dots
            of the puzzle you presented
i wanted to lay down and die
who's the one still breathing,
only the soft whispers saved me

standing arms extended
at the edge of this cliff,
setting fire to the reflection
would it be a welcome flight
or could it start this trip all over again
should i meet you halfway
would your wings catch my fall

does splendor in the grass lie below
or is it hiding in a falling star
beyond a blackened cloud,
spinning back to earthly reminisces
 all that's left is
dark silence that beckons

Sometimes you are magical. You are...here!

"or could it start this trip all over again
should i meet you halfway
would your wings catch my fall" - No words for this unbelievable poetry.

"does splendor in the grass lie below
or is it hiding in a falling star
beyond a blackened cloud,
spinning back to earthly reminisces"

You made the contemplation so incredibly magical. Shimmering poetry Frieda! Hats off!

I'm digging up some real gems way back here on page 15 of my RR queue. This, absolutely, is a diamond.

Wow, thank you. :-)
Dark silence that beckons.. murky thoughts that consume... to take a leap of faith or to be haunted by what if's

Thanks so much Kee...
Standing on the precipice, a very scary place to be. You captured the feeling perfectly.

Thank you muchly Claire, you got it in one.
We each have steps we can take. They are still our choice to make, no matter the outside influences upon them. Some may be giant, and even final leaps (not always "of faith). Other steps can be to silently change what we are thinking at the moment... and it being just as important as anything grander.

Welcome :)
I'm not quite sure what exactly the poem conjures up.. Hmn.. Displeasure? Dissatisfaction? Discontent?
Nonetheless, I say, lovely poem. Keep penning.
