More brokeness and brokenheartedness... And truly felt here.
I'm alone,
even when here with you
damaged roots could not
lap up your affections
Such tragic thoughts, how damaged the soul can become, that even the sun cannot penetrate... How can this winter devastated tree awaken to spring and bear its fruit again...

Pristine ending! I admire your talent of wrapping up the poem, always done in a clever manner...this is brilliant! I can feel the tangible energy within your work, always xoxo

Doing the happy dance...lovely coming from one who's poetry I adore, thanks so much x
To compare a tree and love... is so classic I want to cry why i didn't write it before you! One phrase, YOU wrapped my heart with the roots of your poetry :)
Like this, the strong central image, the playful tree of hearts, the clever enjambement and the use of a quote in the last lines, loads to like here...

Loads to like about your review, thank's so much Leslie, much appreciated!
I wish the Tree of Hearts is a bonsai tree :) I put it in my room and watered it everyday with care. I love this piece, life is meaningless if we don't experience hurts and pain, I really like the thoughts flowing here. One of the powerful lines here is the acceptance of reality that life will never be fair as we have wished. Good write always Frie, Best of the best heartfel write of yours. Keep writing and kicking :)

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
