Anoint Me with Poetry

Anoint Me with Poetry

A Poem by Frieda P

Color me in metaphorical hues,
    tinges of red's soft sonnets
paint a picture within inky filigreed lace
    and fine silken threads
my religion breathes your favored essence
    twist poetry into my hair,
let me hear the music sing
bathe me in champagne bubbled prose
sending butterfly shivers up my spine
I breathe the air you pen
                          and then some again
write in blood, wake up the oxygen flow
                                  the words that artists bleed
you are my strength, my power, my weakness

i dine on the phases of your moons
cut me deep into the heart & gut
watch the movement of echoes unfold
                                       whilst moving majestic amethyst  mountains,
shred my soul with your dragon's breath
anoint my breasts, oils that seep thy quill
make me punch drunk dizzy
drenching me in your sparkling wines
clinging from the vines of destiny's path
my soul existence is dependent
 upon a verse

I love poetry that flows effortlessly and this piece does so with style. Beautiful metaphors and usage of colors. I am left in awe of the radiance of this poem. I felt like I was floating down a river of poetic brilliance. So glad I found you and your wonderful words.

You cut so deep into the poetic fibre here of what it means to write. It's awesome that your identity drips in this amethyst moist imaginative celebration of the craft. I'm a believer...

Okay now I'm blushing, I hope you're happy! :P xo
Your use of flow is majestic. I also fancy your sensual diction:
"bathe me in champagne bubbled prose/sending butterfly shivers up my spine/i breathe the air you pen /and then some again/write in blood, wake up the oxygen flow"
These lines are probably my favorites in this piece. This is the moment where the reader finds him/herself straightening up with shivers and inhaling sharply!

Jelly. I see mountains of rainbow colored jelly. And then a cheese of sunshine and lollipop trees. Butterflies everywhere of course. And there's me, walking on a silverdusty road:) Do you know the feeling of being overwhelmed with goodness? Yeah that. It's what I felt when I read this piece. This is beyond beautiful. If heaven means mountains of jelly and lollipop trees then this is got to be heavenly.
