Time Makes Love Pass

Time Makes Love Pass

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Broken promises...

"
Time weary, blurred heaviness of dark denial
like breathing in heavy stench of stale cigarette smoke
exhaling the songs of lost love and no forever after
stuck in a breached tug of war, fight or flight
broken promises unravel fated defeats approach
how cruel life, to take us from a place of ultimate bliss
to be plunged at the chasm of mundane and prosaic
point of no return and syndrome of slippery ledges
death's  breathing no guarantees of reverence
falling into the abyss of impertinence and technicalities
days drag like slow motion's madness in reverse
conversations in the head, that never touch the lips
pressures of neglect, repetitious nights of no silver linings
where light once shone in the cracks and on the face
now we drown, we sink...sleeping with eyes open
dark shadows appear to caste  on this sad house
past life's enchantment but a memory in photo books
finalizing dissolution contracts til death do us part
foundations once solid give way to legalities pen
time makes love pass seemingly in a sigh of minutes

Wow, this is so deep and emotional. Some amazing powerful lines and the whole poem itself is very well written. I can feel the trust an betrayal in it.

As I now try to catch up to your work, I've started with a doozie ;P This is full of despondency and poetry and resignation...it's so easy, natural even, to fall into this mindset, but considerably more difficult to articulate it with this kind of precision...you've found words here for feelings I'm not able to explain myself...well done Frieda :)

"...love pass seemingly in a sigh of minutes"--great line and great ending. I can feel this one, the emotion, the deadened fury, everything is right there. You've crafted a piece that begs attention, and you deserve prasie for it. Well done.

I love when someone tells me they 'feel' it, thanks so much Girl Friday.
If this got any deeper, it would almost be enough to fill a black hole...
Loved it!

"conversations in the head, that never touch the lips"...I f*****g love that line.

Ah divorce...what a b***h. For some. Fortunately, mine was quite amicable, but believe me, I've seen the toll it takes when it's not. And, I know, so have you, which is where this piece came from, I feel. Dark place, but great write.

il mio piacere!
Yes, time makes everything pass I think, but never makes anything reaches its destination. It is a one shot experiment and it forgets but does not forgive. I can feel the emotion on here.

Thanks Maryanne, sometime neither.
Frieda, you killed me slowly with that one. It made me Hurt all over and well I guess that was what it was designed to do. But I can see the feeling of trust an betrayal as ifI did a google search and it came
Up with 10M hits. It was a heart wrenching piece freida And its worked like this that remind me I still have a lot to learn but also that I'm not the only one with a past, so thank you

utterly depressing and morose. i can't think of anything worse than the rigors of a strained and failing relationship. i would rather have a ground glass enema than go through this ever again. i ain't pickin' fights or namin' names but i hope those two get their mess together and work it out before that downslide becomes irreversible. you and i both know that there is a point of no return. nicely penned, posy.

I think your poem was well written to express the loss and the fading of love over time. Yet if it ever really was love, time can do nothing but allow the loss to be insulated by new thoughts and new experiences. Love will ever be the perl trapped in the shell of time. Pure. True. Forever...
A lovely write. I am inspired to discuss the thoughts that come to mind in my musings over this read.
