Unleash Your Fancy

Unleash Your Fancy

A Poem by Frieda P

Could you fly with me to far away lands
take a trip & hold my hand
an island's getaway escape
      where sands are malachite
         & burnt cinnabar
let's depart the mundane
to tango or light a fandango
unleash your imagination,
bare your soul, take the plunge
dance with me over the edge
     to see the azure moon
       it's crystal clarity filled
            with knowledge of the ages
take a flight of fancy to a celestial sanctuary
where pewter wine runs in canals
we'll dip our feet
and watch the sun rise magenta
a purple haze that tickles the senses
wander this world of plenty
    & sense the sea glistening
a majestic tale of lapis lazuli
     and mystical spells
spill your ingenuity loose on
 Mt Everest's snowcaps
we'll sweep a path to the south of France
smother baguettes with real butter
 and drink wisteria wines
or we could just sit here and pass the time
drink razzmatazz liqueurs
                made with thunder & lime
then sip each other's sweet nectar

I tumbled down this write, and envied those who have synesthesia because I have such a strong desire right now to taste every color and smell every sound...truly amazing imagery.

Huh...funny little world ;-) Always my pleasure!
Sounds like the trip of my dreams. Knowing me, I would probably never come back. Awesome piece... the imagery takes you to the scene. I just booked a flight to NY a few minutes ago. Now, I wish I booked a flight to Bermuda :)

Awesome. Much needed.

Wow, I want to go there and...... like NOW!!! Oh my, you had me riding in my gondola at the pewter wine in the canals!
Your words have me caught in a spell of "wisteria wine, and real butter, and razzmatazz liqueurs"!! I want to slide down the snowcaps of Mt Everest, and skip to France!!!
Suppose that might wear me out to pass out before all the lovely drinking????
Kidding aside...........I LOVE IT!!!!

That means a lot coming from you Claire, with your sense of imagination and storytelling!
Your word choices greatly influence the pace of this piece. I found it to be a fun write. I liked it so much, I read it five times! Love-'We'll sweep a path to the south of France"
"Let's depart the mundane to tango or light a fandango." great lines! Great rhythm and flow!

Whoa, you read it more times than me! Lol, thanks so much Barbara....
This was lovely. The descriptions applied to all 5 senses and had real soul in it. If that makes sense haha.. Anyway, I really enjoyed this. Hope to see more.

I truly sit here and wonder as I read this what is honestly going through your mind as you write. You ahve wings Frieda and you fly us everywhere we can imagine. Your words are the wind that lifts us to soar off to anywhere we choose to be. I loved this and really would like to know the picture in your mind.
