Fried Diavolo

Fried Diavolo

A Poem by Frieda P
"

playing with fire (diavolo translates to devil in Italian)

"
Why didn't you come with a warning,
you spun my head
 before handling with care,
noxious fumes
            took over my senses
dizzy with the excitement
     of poisonous Zion,
the pearly gates opened
    and consummation was intoxicating
           wrapped around my upturned spine
      without a thought to toxicity
deafening the sounds of death
that bring us to our knees
fallen to worship at the altar
                 of devil's entertainment

I like the artwork and the amazing poetry. Some temptations can make us wild and crazy with desire and need. Can fall and become the Devil entertainment. Nice use of thoughts and language made the poem a pleasure to read. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Ha I happen to like that song, thanks Renee ;-)
thank you for that translation at the preface. i would never have guessed it, being that you are an Italiano who resides in Jersey, it would never have occurred to me . i wonder if your mama knows what you're up to and that you've been tempted by Beelzebub....hope you didn't sign your name in blood....we all know what that leads to, more poetry! this is fresh and marvelous, with just a sprinkle of Faust, and a pinch of oregano , nice dish!
