Poetic Slumber

Poetic Slumber

A Poem by Frieda P

I wrote a poem in my dream
when I woke it was gone
poetic fairies sparkled my night
          I ponder t'was
a secret to my own psyche
could be stuck in my heart or in my eye
it seemed an awesome write to me
full of tranquility and peace of  mind
perhaps someone else wrote on my pen
vaporous visitors come to visit slumber
 then vanish like ghosts
it was full of insurmountable love
 and softness beyond compare

I want to slumber again to see who is this spirit
                            that took over mind pen...?
perhaps she'll reveal herself in full daylight

It is funny how that happens, you dream the most beautiful phrases and verses, so clear in your mind, you even go so far as to tell yourself not to forget this one, because it is very special and then you wake up and it is gone. My feeling Frieda is, it is never gone, it still remians inside of you. Your dream was a preview of things to come and someday soon you will remember and write this beuaitufl poem for all of us to read...but then again, how are we to know that what you have given us is not what you dreamt? because it is beautiful in its own right. My dear Frieda, I am sorry that you suffer insomnia and nightmares, but if it is this same insomnia and nightmare laced evenings that allow you to write such beuatiful work, then I would have to question whether they are a bad thing or not.

perhaps it is our posy trying to break through the facade and release from the prison of her painful memories? i have had dreams such as this one. they are almost always hard to remember for me though and i must compensate through imagination and some degree of creativity. you have an immense talent for creating beauty with that pen you speak of. it is always a pleasure to feel your heart through your writes.

Love what you've written here, yes, exactly, the world of almost...
I have dreamed verses and remembered them when I woke up, but they were never anything worthwhile.

That sounds like a good start to me, did you ever expand on it?

No; it seemed complete as it was.

Ha I would have ran with the wine....
First, I'm glad you slept well. :)
I think most poets experience this. Poetry comes from our conscious mind finding the inspiration of our subconsciousness. Poetry is a bridging of that gap. Thus the healing power found in such expression.
Thank you for sharing this concept so eloquently.

Thank you & thank you again kind sir...much appreciate your thoughts David.
Eloquent and beautiful. Unfortunately, I can relate to this. It captures the desperation to close one's eyes and whenever they open again it meets the sunlight and not the neverending darkness...
