It is funny how that happens, you dream the most beautiful phrases and verses, so clear in your mind, you even go so far as to tell yourself not to forget this one, because it is very special and then you wake up and it is gone. My feeling Frieda is, it is never gone, it still remians inside of you. Your dream was a preview of things to come and someday soon you will remember and write this beuaitufl poem for all of us to read...but then again, how are we to know that what you have given us is not what you dreamt? because it is beautiful in its own right. My dear Frieda, I am sorry that you suffer insomnia and nightmares, but if it is this same insomnia and nightmare laced evenings that allow you to write such beuatiful work, then I would have to question whether they are a bad thing or not.

I have come up with quite brilliant poems in my sleep only to botch it all when I go to write it down. I've also had those so, so vivid dreams that felt like reality. Upon waking, I am out of sorts for a moment. Lately, I've had long stretches of broken sleep. Couldn't tell you the last time I remember dreaming. But the next time I do, I hope the fairies grasp that pen and write something delicious for me!
I keep a blank page book and pen by my bed. It is slowly filling itself with lines and lines. Some okay... some not. Up at four a.m. because of work I'm not satisfied with in filling my brain and keeping it active. Though an ambitious work, this one may not see the light of day.
We are fortunate though, that yours did.

This was beautiful. I love the images of a poetic fairy. Very often they slip in and out quickly. I keep a notebook by the bed and still end up forgetting most of my thoughts. Well written.

Freida I know what you mean about this... My piece called the Message was about a nutty dream I had.... its always good to write it out... I get lazy sometimes about it... I liked this

you have a poetic stye in your eye :P I've yet to take a consensus, but it seems all poets large or small are insomniacs at least most of the time, I wonder about the genetic make up of poets. You are a phenomenal TALENT. sorry I didn't get to read more I tried but I keep getting kicked off , I might have worms :)

I guess you're right, seems when I bring up the subject, many poets have the same problem, must be some kind of creative phenomenon, wonder if they've studies on this...thanks!
this must be why i never get much sleep...if this happens to me i wake myself up and start writing...
i hate letting poems go...
