Heedful Caution

Heedful Caution

A Poem by Frieda P

I implore you
please don't impart
 your heart to me,
 your essence
is the lovely warmth of potpourri

There are damages broken
beyond repair
          exposed in me
you'd not survive
 the depth of inky waters

There are no flutterby kisses
     on the fiery horizon
death's door captured my head
and hung it out to dry
you fall on me,
you're sure to get burnt

What you've captured is a facade
 covering ravaged afflictions
to foray onto these grounds
would be like quick sand eruptions

  Eaten alive, a chain reaction
           plunging descent into Hades
 ask the bodies strewn
                  along the way

In my lovely plot of the dead
                  my twisted garden
                    cultivated methodically,
    dark debris marks it doom

as i read this, my heart cries for your tortured psyche...my eyes tear up for your bleeding soul and i would impart to you only the gentlest wishes for happiness, only the truest of all empathy and loving understanding. it seems the best and brightest of us sometimes have too many demons to quell their fears and anxieties and are richly deserving of so much better. this is a straight to the heart and deeply moving warning of your own idiosyncratic proclivities, self destructive and yet, all for self preservation. i love your gentle heart, frieda...it truly shines through in all your writes.

Under all the warning...I still see the plea of a desperate heart to be loved in spite of all the darkness within. A very touching write Frieda.

A painful honesty of a heart that has been scorched... now in pain and fear it cowers... I know the taste of this horrific fire... the ashes it leaves behind. And I know that from the ashes can rise the Phoenix. xo

Oh so you do come with a warning label :)

If we have not healed from a broken heart then we are not capable of giving to another fully.

Very well written.
