Just Dead

Just Dead

A Poem by Frieda P

Somewhere in my soul,
 you still reside
you pass through
 in dark of night
a light tingle,
 shiver up the spine
glimpse out the side of my view
i catch a glimmer of you
can't tell if you're smiling or blue
blurry molten grey
 still mists the eye
i feel you in my bones,
   my heart overflows crimson
are you haunting allusion
or just a delusion...
  do you waft on zephyrs
           like a fluttering butterfly
          or are you just dead?

Someone who was very special to me was murdered in September 2011. When I read this it brought him to mind. His sister has told me that she has "seen" him on many occasions over the years.. very much as you describe like seeing something out of the corner of your eye. I think I will share this read with her...

That feeling that always resides inside the heart of someone who's lost a person that was very close. This is such an honest, awakening poem.. that brings back all that emotion, pain love loss suffering and hope..be it visions of truth or just delusions.. it's good to still have them around in some way. Great piece Frieda, hugs.

It is sad and touching. Losing someone you love is not a tragedy for a day. It would last for a lifetime as long as you are not ready to accept the truth that his time has ended.

Another piece to recall the memoirs of your love one's existence in your mind.

"i catch of glimmer of you..." perhaps A glimmer of you? And I suppose "allusion" might work, but I wonder if you meant "illusion"? Let me share something with you...in 1989 my Aunt Tammy was murdered, and to this day I have dreams about her in which she comes to me and just sits and shoots the s**t...the dream always ends the same...I ask her, "Aren't you dead?" and *poof* she's gone. My mother (Tammy's sister) died in 2000. In 2004 when Morgan was born, she came to me in the hospital and held her. Clear as day. Just saying. If you are catching glimpses of her, your baby sis is trying to be seen. Love you, lady. Great piece. Know how I know? I'm crying like a baby xD Thanks for that :-p
