Missing Chroma

Missing Chroma

A Poem by Frieda P

If you excavate my heart,
 you'll still find me
if you dig deeper into the soul
there's a clue
a faint resemblance
of what it used to be

Nonetheless it breathes
 all living things
my eyes have died
 a thousand deaths it seems
colors blur into oddities
 of alien shapes
hues of no depth
 or shadings of sentience
no butterflies to soothe
            the breast or enlighten

Essence of vitality,
 is stipend to a minimum
essential nature of momentum
conforming ghostly vapors
 is fleeting, still
             I cling to hope
 whispering for resolve

What a clever piece of work again here,
How to live in yourself and see yourself at the same time
so clearly grow, shrink, and everything in the middle
or see yourself reflected besides the proverbial sidelines.

Fascinating and beautifully executed, you're not just a writer,
I think your passion besides writing itself in painting
could highly develop, as you also enjoy cooking ...
a real "foodie" you're! :)
Very important to keep colors, alive and life,
trials, singing, dancing and being and acting crazy ...
Each minute we are on this world, we should enjoy,
before it's too late.... and you know that, as me very well.

So that was my take, sorry it got too long lol...
But when I'm here, I'm 100% xxx

My pleasure
Tough to remember who we are after a series of difficulties or heartache that holds for a long time. However, we're there... that is what the hope grabs on to, and eventually pulls out of the rubble - although sometimes it seems to take a very, very long time. I understand.
Nicely penned, Frieda.

Refer to my comments in the PM :D I can't wait to see it's official unveiling ;)
Resolve and shear doggedness are not easy traits to possess. For some, giving up is so much easier. To "cling to hope" shows strength and courage. It is a dominant part of the human psyche in some.

By this writing it's obvious you have captured the essence and spirit of it. Chroma-- perhaps you are referring to one who is saturated with a life force that cannot be destroyed. I have known people like this and I'm sure you're one of them. Another good poem Frieda, nice work.

Thanks Skittles, much appreciated. :-)
At times we all need to dig deep to find what lies beneath the surface, the smiles, the eyes. often what we find is dark, but if we use gentle hands when digging, perhaps we can shed a little light, warmth and love to what we find.

Dear Frieda, I am a fortunate man as i get to call you my friend. The more I read, the more I learn and the more amazed i am with you each day. very nice.

The title caught my attention. The strong expression of emotion took me to emotion and thoughts of the heart. I like the flow of the description and the very good ending. We must cling on to the good things or we will become lost forever. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

Why excavate the heart Frieda; guess the resolve is in the eyes of the beholder..I admire your hope and I hope that the light in your eye is restored for who is longed here will see it right through..will conjure the immortal soul :)
