Fitful Hauntings

Fitful Hauntings

A Poem by Frieda P

Your desperation
           has punctured
 a hole in my soul
              your light is gone, yet
it lives loudly in my being
only to be turned into
 darkest of night inky blues
hanging in mid air
 with no breathe in sight
last thoughts of decay
           and torment left behind
 You are now my affliction
 for which I abide
   departed vivacity crashes
              and settle in life's crevices
residing in the torment
 of spirit's anguish
no comforts to bear
            the cross of sorrow's woe
melancholy eyes penetrate
 my sleep at darkest hour
cursed with the nightmares
 of your final hours

i fear this hearkens back to a loss of yours with which i am painfully familiar. frieda, darling, i hate this for you. like my Jeanine, this is something you will never get out of your heart. it does help to write and emote to others....this is both endearing and sad. and it makes me want to extend my heart and hugs to you across the miles. awesome and very personal write, my dear one.

That must have been some final act of desperation, and it pains me so much to read these pieces of yours, but on the other hand, they are so hauntingly beautiful to read...thank you for sharing them with us.

Such a deep and abiding sense of loss in this piece, dearest Frieda...such whispers of ache captured in these deeply moving brushstrokes....so powerfully touching...((hugs))

melancholy eyes penetrate
my sleep at darkest hour
cursed with the nightmares
of your final hours

painful truth spoken with the most feared honesty
we can move on
we can try to forget
but we can never be the same

No review, though technically and every other way the poem is good.

Just a quiet hug.

Awh thanks Michael, you are a sweetheart.
so mystical. you never give us the story straight, rather dance around the plot and flirt with each chapter. I love that about your work. bravo

Nice poem, but what really struck me was the avatar photo--for some reason it reminds me of a Myrdraal from the Wheel of Time saga

Awh you're sweet David, thanks so much! ;-)
Frieda, like Quin I immediately recognised this story. For her sake you have to break free of the torment and cellebrate your life in her honour.
