Unveiled

Gauzy film upon the heart, like faded graffiti on brick

not enough to remove the haze of irreverence

give me a full steam gag of passion or bygones

your cheek is not the respect I desire

mockery of sinful equations that lie at my feet

Sanctify the means of this just defilement 

ridicule my lust and fervor and praise to the dust

succumb to crimson emoting boundless floodlights

you violate my sensibilities with so little trust and emotion

sat me upon a pedestal only to be thrust again the wall of pedestrian

foray into unknown dense jungles of cannibalistic gods 

Worship at the altar of blood's sacrifice and sweaty acquiescence

agreement to sanction is but a mere concurrence of beastly traits

desire the flood gates to unfurl strip your soul naked to the world

slice the vein which mingles scarlet with mine to adorn a sacred oath

roar the untamed brute of labyrinth with intent and my claws will be yielded

you been listening to bob dylan again? this is truly well worded and just confuzzled enough to piss off poe, keats and byron. i love it! (what the f**k does it mean?) JK , i get it, it is very cryptic yet readable....you are in a sassy and intelligent mood. great write!

Wicked imagery..I like the faceless value of the picture...stripping off the identity of another would be a miraculous unveiling...a rebirth of sorts.

Haha you know me well my dear, you can even tell by my reviews how awake or not awake I am ;P I'm awake enough to know that this is a great piece though :) I am currently downloading some of his stuff actually...would listening to him this early actually wake me up or put me back to sleep though haha The jury's out on that one ;P

Hey that's not a criticism haha I was referring to that lilting element of his sound...his music is smoky and atmospheric, and I tend to listen to him on the couch with my eyes close...he's like a form of meditation to me ;P

Oh he doesn't put me to sleep, he just helps me wander....his words and melodies are so in synch with one another, he just carries me away to so many different places...yet I never wander so far as to forget that I'm listening to him ;P There are some others that have that effect on me as well but no one does it like him ;)

Oh he unequivocally an icon, I think everyone will agree on that, and I sympathize with your assessment that he is a personal religion...there has NEVER been an artist in any genre who has been able to marry sexuality and spirituality to the extent that he has...and there never will be another...I once told a friend that I consider him to be "the last true poet" and I've never backed down on that assessment...of course, he is in his eighties now and who knows how much longer he will be with us...I remember shedding a few tears when George Harrison passed away, and I will probably she even more when Leonard departs...mind you, the stamina he's possessing at his age is almost unfathomable, playing those three-plus hour shows almost every night for the last several years, while still finding the time to throw in the albums on a regular basis AND another volume of poetry...I don't know how he does it :)
