Star Crazy

Star Crazy

A Poem by Frieda P

When I wish upon a star
I know exactly
         which one you are
      swung up high
 with sheer delight
your aura
   is the brightest of night

Your essence flows
                      like poppies in bloom
              your scent fills the room
                 like exotic perfume
my love will blossom
          by your mere sight
            my spirit soars regally
            igniting fiery flight
        the thoughts
       of your incandescent touch
      thrills me to delirium
                and ardor like nonesuch

Let me play in your fields
              of fantastical brilliance
         I want to live,
                breathe,
                  be captured in
                      exquisite moon trance

A beautiful tribute to that someone who comes along and lights up our darkest night. They become our star, to love us, lead us and show us the light. Amzing how the love shines through every line!

A favourite for me. Thanks for writing this one. Reinforces my faith in love.

As an overview, you certainly are one of the most inventive and prolific poets here on WC. You spill out good poems as often as a car factory spills out the newest models. :) Being pictures are often good sources of ideas when it comes to writing poetry, you have
definitely given merit to this beautiful painting.

Your affectionate tone adds to the angelic characterization of the one being spoken about and your word choice stings along a theme that sours gracefully within the heavenly reflection of your own being. This is a great poem to add to your portfolio of poetry and I approve your efforts as well as the artist of the painting.

Great job Frieda.

Nice poem. Made me think of the night sky over the Syrian desert. (Iraq) I'd never seen so many stars in my life.
