When I wish upon a star

I know exactly 

         which one you are

      swung up high

 with sheer delight

your aura 

   is the brightest of night

Your essence flows

                      like poppies in bloom

              your scent fills the room

                 like exotic perfume

my love will blossom

          by your mere sight

            my spirit soars regally

            igniting fiery flight

        the thoughts

       of your incandescent touch

      thrills me to delirium

                and ardor like nonesuch

Let me play in your fields

              of fantastical brilliance

         I want to live, 

                breathe,

                  be captured in

                      exquisite moon trance

why am i humming "when you wish upon a star"? frieda, this is exquisite and i can tell it was a labor of love for you. i also thought of that song by the manhattans "shining star"...you see, the moon and stars evoke so much pleasure for me and i find music in those images. think i'll go listen to the "dark side of the moon" album now..... awesome write! excellent picture too!!

Your friend does great things for you...she is inspiring a tone that is separating you from your signature voice and presenting a whole new dimension of your writing...this is another picturesque piece that can be enjoyed purely for its imagery, though there is still room for scrutinizing if one chose to do so ;P Well done Frieda...I envy your ability to produce such solid poems at such a rapid pace ;)
