Wild Heart

Wild Heart

A Poem by Frieda P

Wild Horses,
 wind rushing through your mane
I dream of riding bareback
rapacious with you
along the surf,
 throwing caution to the wind
my soul had surrendered
to a place of isolation and caution

 Engrossed by nature's pleasurable
 force for freedom
found my secret creature within
distracted by your rein of play
power of liberty and unrestrained,
 never being enslaved

Indulge my wildest fantasies
 to rope myself a steed
bucking my silly filly preconceptions
 of wicked stallions
jaunt with me on this excursion
 on new trails of adventure
I've sauntered for much too long
   my soul needs to barnstorm
I'll mount you reckless and uninhibited
 for wantonness's rush

And one becomes free from the restraints of that which squelches a spirit from running with the wind, playing at times with wild fire, dismounting the steed with wild abandon and then wanting to do it all over again..........ah, riding bareback on a wild stallion makes quite a statement - as did Lady Godiva when she protested her husband's unfair taxes!
Let go, be who you dream to be with a Wild Heart!!
Wonderful write my friend!!

Don't go riding bareback with strange stallions ;-) I love this piece, Frieda...it's so strong. Thrusting, if you will. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Love it.

Thanks SHEEMA like your interpretation.
The call of the wilrd... yes... great images of bareback riding, or uninhibited exposure... the nearest I ever get to it is windsurfing - and one day I will do it naked...

Makes me want to run wild and free, like the horses. An uplifting adventure, well done.

Great Claire, that's the feel I was going for, thanks!
Of course it has to be bareback. All the better to become one with the stallion. Saddles and reins are for sissies. You wanna borrow my spurs? I enjoyed this one FP.

If only we could all live this way eh? Thanks Deron!
I dream of riding bare back too but there's way to many Kooties out there for that. I do like horses. All they do is eat and get really big. I can relate to that. I did like this poem. I read the whole thing without drifting off.
