Scribbled Bliss

Scribbled Bliss

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Childhood sexual abuse is something people close their eyes to and turn their heads away from, not standing up for the innocent. This is my voice giving it a face.

"
Angst filled pain passed on
           like an old family photo
poignant, yet colored
in faded hues of misty grey
you threw your life away
             like dirty bath water
               scribbled notes left behind
     nothing to obscure

your flight from
          breathing's contentment

    Incomprehensible deafening
              screams of emnity
bad blood injected
          into the veins of naivete

Venom so fierce
it'd knock the hell out of Satan
prince of darkness
               sat behind our door knocking
monster of brute strength
               and alien affections
    no gods interrupted
 this sin against his child
prayers unanswered,
               only the muffled sounds
of innocence
     being shorn in tiny shreds
common enemy of mine,
 I needed to protect you

I failed to slay the monsters
on the rise and in my head
you took that leap of faith
        begging death
                    would be it's own reward
peaceful dickens of a way
         to escape
 hell's fire
you left behind all the scoffing scorn
that found it's way back to my front door
                                        taunting songs breathe immortality
                                              for sins of the father
         hiding for eternity and perpetuity
                   in your silent bliss

Author's Note

Frieda P
Many of you will feel uncomfortable reading this, and I hope that's true, being uncomfortable and staying silent are two different things. I have hopes that people won't stay silent on this horrific issue any longer. It devours lives, being ultimately and internally damaging to say the very least.

you nailed the accursed head on this one, the flow, the dialoged pain set to perfect un-perfect word choice , the ending had me in musty tears, cellar wall fears like closing the door on some many closets, who's moth's feast on the sweat of so, sowed many living in nightmares...great piece

This is another near flawless piece pleading the case for stopping child abuse. You give a voice to many who don't have one, or don't know how to use their own. Well done.

And the most heartbreaking and most painful part of it...when family members knew about it but they choose to remain silent for fear that it will break the family apart. illogical. isn't it that the brutal act alone has already tear the family apart?
Thank you for giving voice to those who succumbed to silence.

It's very destructive to say the least...thanks so much for your response gabrielle.
A little off topic, but "Satan" was only guilty of Pride, he was referred to as the Morning Star, a fallen angel. An angel would never allow such a thing, despite God's Propaganda. I really like the subject matter, the brutality of it, and the way the path of words becomes distorted near the bottom.

Interesting, I was actually going to use Lucifer originally. Thanks for reading James.
It is an uncomfortable read but things like this should be, you are a writer and able to convey such a situation...wrenching but superbly delivered xox

Thanks for reading Mark.
Child abuse, whether it be sexual or physical, disgusts me. What do those people think gives them the right to scar and ruin those children emotionallly? That is something they will live with for the rest of there life, and knowing some people who this has happened to, it really messes people up. Amazing piece frieda, I apologize for the rant!!

Began workin with this in my thirties when I stopped dening it happened to me...When I got a bit of a handle on it .. I began sharing with others what helped me own up and let loose the inner shame and hatred...continue to support brave ones everywhere who begin to heal and deal...our culture in the USA has just begun to allow others to speak of it...openly..please know you may contact me if you need to ask questions of share...I do not ask judgemental questions...ther is no way to blame a child for curiosity gone damning...ever.
