Peaceful Flutterings

Peaceful Flutterings

A Poem by Frieda P
"

For Lee my baby sis. Gone too soon.

"
You colored the world
                   with blasts of rainbows
you softened the blow
                  with lovely laughter
your smile lit up the room
                           like incandescent candlelight
Not a day goes by
that you are out of sight
my heart beats
 in the memories of you
echo of remembrances
                       before you took flight
from giggly chubby cheeks
to eyes that pierced the soul
you grew before my eyes
                and captured light's essence
Brought a smile
 the whimsy of butterfly flutters
to everyone you touched
 it was enchantment
Divine before your departure,
the spirit of an angel even then
         your gossamer wings now unearthly
 and bound for peace
you took with you every other beat
           of my heart and soul
I carry you with me in every minute
                of every day with hope
we shall one day reunite
 fluttering harmoniously
 in tranquility

Author's Note

Frieda P
For Lee, there's a big void that can never be filled in your absence, you took a part of my heart with you when you took flight. You called me 'big sis' and I miss hearing that with every fiber of my being, you were, and will always be my 'baby sis'.

You did full justice to her memory with this beautiful poem. She must be beautiful where she is now and proud of you.
It's been nine years since my baby sister decided to end it and I relate to this poem totally. But you know...ever since she went...I have lived with a strong gut feeling that they stay around...in some way!
So just keep being strong for her.

This is so amazing beautiful but brought tears to my eyes your words are so felt though this its totally pulling at my own heart strings. You did an amazing job on this one took your real life words and made it feel real for the rest of us... i have a feeling she is looking down at you and saying thats my big sis... She is proud of you as are we all. Taking something so hard as this and making amazing work.. I am very proud of you though i have never met you in person but i feel as though i have because you are a gem in my eyes and im sure everyone elses here.. This is your heart on paper and you did your sister proud and made her come alive on paper... amazing job taking your heart and letting us be apart of it love you

Your welcome loved one
Beautiful, Frieda! I lost my oldest brother 5 years ago to cancer. We were not as close as you and your sister, but still a void. I have only brothers. I believe sisters have one of the most unique bonds of love. I can feel your love for Lee in this and your deep sorrow at her loss in your life. Hugs, my friend. You did her proudly in this wonderful tribute.

Thanks John, appreciate your thoughts.
My friend, what can one say other than this is a beautiful tribute to your sister !
I am confident that she was reading it over your shoulder as you were writing it...and wrapping her wings around you. Allow yourself to feel them.

thanks Kailor, much appreciated.
Frieda, this is so intensely beautiful and immensely sad. A loss such as this should never be, never happen. Your words, your heart which I can feel withing the lines of this poem have rained sorrow on me this morning, and not so much for your loss, which I do feel sadness for, but for you.

Though if I may, I am proud of you, you have taken this pain and turned it into something beautiful that you can share with us, a group of strangers who have become your friends. Thank you so much for being you.
