Rouge Burnished Soul

Rouge Burnished Soul

A Poem by Frieda P

         Rouge burnished, ardent soul,
                   butterflies inflate the heart
    billow above the furor
 and disquietude

close your eyes
         in wakeful slumber
      glean a thousand kisses
                        & marshmallow doves

masterpiece
         within soul's empty vessel
portal of delirium
                 and fine red wine

images
                         of crystalline apertures
                        to Arcadia

whirling
                          on a frenzied bed
                                     of plumose embraces

promises
                  of purple cloud nine abodes

abandon
                  the rootlessness of veracity

~floating~

                             on the breast

                           of an angel's arousal

Quite beautiful, serene and sensual all in a neat little package.

Rouge burnished, ardent soul,
butterflies inflate the heart
billow above the furor
and disquietude

I love this opening verse, how could one stop reading with an entrance like this?

glean a thousand kisses
& marshmallow doves

The stuff that dreams are made of. It seems I may not be the only romantic around here. Very beautifully done.

The mix of hard and soft metaphores here makes this write interesting. "Burnished" yet "floating". Much like the love of a woman who must press on wfter the world has pressed her love down. She lifts up and offers her "breast" as a platform to feel love again.
A very nice poem this afternoon Frieda!

How I wish I could live in the hills and glades of Arcadia.
Beautifully written.

Lovely, elegant. I would have never thought to put "marshmallow doves" together... but they do go well.
Very nice.

Had no doubt ;-P
You do effortlessly elegant and pretty imagery as is evident in this poem again.
" butterflies inflate the heart" - vow!

"frenzied bed
of plumose embraces" - vow!

And the rest of the poetry is just as delectable. It would take me a 100 years to get so inspired!
