A Perfect Memory

A Perfect Memory

A Poem by Frieda P

Do you hold a perfect memory
                      deep within your heart
a secret place so special
                       it burns like an ember
 is it of a perfect night,
                         an evening to remember with your lover
     or perhaps a day at the beach
                                    flying kites with your children
we all share this unique gift
to recapture
a mindfulness of past
twilights and sunsets
                                       and sunrises to remember
they pass in an instant
                       but stay with us forever a lifetime
a warmth in the belly so palpable
like the sun on your face
a hug, a cuddle, a kiss
 of a time gone by that embraces
                     our senses aglow
 in the summer breezes of reflection
of a time that stood still
                       to enrich our very soul's awareness
it's a quiet thunder which lives within
                       the soft embraces of recollections

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What's your most perfect memory?
This was beautiful I loved it, so well written
My memory would be sitting on my grandfathers lap as he watched Bold & the Beautiful and I'd remember him abuse the characters of the show whenever they had an affair with every other person on the show..Omg he loved that show he'd even take me to my neighbors house if our cable went down, he wouldn't miss the show for the world. He was a strict man but that time we spent we were like two kids watching something fascinating.
sure we have both sad and nice memories, who would have only one type?none for sure my fair lady
I had two brothers, so I remember well the "beating the heck" out of each other days... and the few that we didn't. I know that is a comment on a review, but the poem brought it all back to me. Good memories... even the beatings from older brother and the tattle telling of the younger.
That of being born...People find it weird but I remember it all...And also that faint coated criticism as I stepped out to take my first whiff of fresh air.
There are many others as I went along. Some good some bad. But for some inexplicable reason, the bad are imprinted sharper.
This is a very beautiful and thinking poem Frieda. And very novel too. I loved it. 100/100
Grazie, grazie Sera!
Memories are what makes it all worthwhile. Gives us something to cling and hold to during the times we have nothing else worth holding.
