A Perfect Memory

A Perfect Memory

A Poem by Frieda P

Do you hold a perfect memory
                      deep within your heart
a secret place so special
                       it burns like an ember
is it of a perfect night,
an evening to remember with your lover
or perhaps a day at the beach
                                    flying kites with your children
we all share this unique gift
to recapture
a mindfulness of past
twilights and sunsets
                                       and sunrises to remember
they pass in an instant
but stay with us forever a lifetime
a warmth in the belly so palpable
like the sun on your face
a hug, a cuddle, a kiss
of a time gone by that embraces
                     our senses aglow
in the summer breezes of reflection
of a time that stood still
to enrich our very soul's awareness
it's a quiet thunder which lives within
                       the soft embraces of recollections

This was beautiful I loved it, so well written

My memory would be sitting on my grandfathers lap as he watched Bold & the Beautiful and I'd remember him abuse the characters of the show whenever they had an affair with every other person on the show..Omg he loved that show he'd even take me to my neighbors house if our cable went down, he wouldn't miss the show for the world. He was a strict man but that time we spent we were like two kids watching something fascinating.

That's really nice to know! Thanks.
I have many perfect memories, each perfect for their own varying reasons, but unlike those memories I have a perfect moment I can enjoy again and again. On a clear night, out on the moor or in the early hours after the street lights go off I look at the sky and absorb the vastness and the beauty of the stars and the moon. In that moment everything else melts away and I am alone and free; more importantly I am clear of mind. Pure bliss I assure you.

Wonderful poem. Anything which can be personal to everyone should be treasured by all - I know I certainly will!

Soooo you're keeping your perfect memory a secret eh? ;-)
This poem captures the essence of something we all can relate to, it is well written and I doubt anyone can read the poem without taking a moment after to think about some of the perfect moments in our own lives.
One of my perfect moments was on my first date with my husband, we had met a few weeks earlier and literally for us it was love at first sight. We both knew this was not going to be a short term or casual relationship. While we were driving to a country fair this song kept repeating itself, it must have played five or six times that night, it was a warm August evening. We had met up a few times before and sparks flew each time. After being stranded about twenty miles from home, by an intoxicated cousin, Bob drove us all home, that was when we arranged our first date, we have been inseparable ever since. The song was Did you fall in love with me, by Prairie Oyster here are some of the lyrics
The signs of love can be hard to see
As the eye of a needle in the candle light
But I thought I saw them in your eyes
When I took you home last night

Did the stars shine brighter on the night we met
Were the blossoms sweeter in the tree
Did the song bird sing in your heart when we kissed
Did you fall in love with me, did you fall in love with me

What a delightful memory, thanks for sharing it with me!
A harbor at sea has a warm heat.
The pier slowly rots at dawn.
I sit down and wait for the sun.
Reading this poem is my perfect memory ...

Let that sink in

ha kidding, I happen to be on the east coast as well.
My most perfect memory, is remembering my first day on earth. I was walking up the stairs to church and the catholic priest said that mission in life is to push obscure people to hell. Ever since then I have infiltrated obscure religions and sent many obscure people to hell.

lmao...good one.
my favorite memory?? hmmmm......
would probably be the day my mother embarrassed herself by digging through a snow bank thinking it had caved in my brother who was making a snow fort. strangely, the bank was not big and my brother was by no means a small kid but she dug and club snow calling his name only to realize he was in the house the whole time. my poor mother, losing her mind....Beautifully written poem

LOL! ;-D
Well, you know, being an alcoholic I suffer from frequent blackouts, so I found this to be a very offensive question.

xD *laughlaughlaugh*

Nice poem, Frieda. Loved it.
