...another day in Shangrila

...another day in Shangrila

A Poem by Frieda P
"

half tongue in cheek...

"
Powdered sugar streets
candy coated mountains
remembering when
life was so simple

celestial fireworks
 star beams blew magenta

woke up this morning...
where has lucidity gone

what happened to my
 youthful expectations
stuck in the brackish ooze
 the cuckoo ate my dignity

repenting dirty laundry,
lost in muck of love analysis
inevitability of every day
granite nuances fetter cinereal

brain charger pistons low
 devoid, half fried, half baked
sparks lost their intent
 toilet flushes came to visit

dragged the hideous demons
Cinderella and Georgie Porgy
 over for a play date
just another day in Xanadu

 eating crow and playing chess
checkmate and other
 suppositions came a callin'
dank days turned parched tsunami

rained on my parade
my best fiend is a demon king
sire alcohol and his wife Margeherita

i'm too early for death,
 too late for child's delectation
random sarcastic and morose
  in place of jazz enchantments

first row tickets for a dream expired
thank my benign stars for poetry
 keeps my demiurgic distillation flowing
if not for that that great AWOL
resident bedlum bughouse a certainty

    just another day in paradise

Another day in where? That brought a smile to my face ;D I think the revisions are great, Shangrila is really nice...as I mentioned earlier, I really like the swirl of images and emotions that run through the piece, and the seamlessness with which you brought them all together...another day, another gem ;)

Well, isn't life's promises just a big delusion? :)
Love the rhythm and satire wrapped within this chaotic ranting on life.

I find Perfection in your poetry honesty drudgery. As I said in the lower comment This is life the realest s**t you can write. Tell the truth and shame the devil. You blossom like a moon flower... So strong so bold soaking up the moon knowing that this will all come to an end all too soon maybe not meant for all to see so the few ghost moths will be nourished by your nectar of night the blissful tragedy of moonlight; By day you, curled browned and withered the sun rays of over analytical examination blinded by their own light see you shriveled and may oversight shoving snow candy treats on sidewalk seat bury you between candy coats and concrete... I still tasted of you and it was good now you may sleep sweetly beneath footnotes of opulent retreats... and I will rest also. Thank You this was beautiful.

Going to be horrid but not meaning to be cruel. Sometimes it feels like you are writing for the sake of writing rather than expressing real emotions or art. Perhaps this escape which takes up a lot of your life saves you concentrating on life itself?

Very poetic.
Good to find the energy and hope of youth. I like the beginning. Description of the good things missed. Nice flow of thoughts and a excellent ending. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poem.
