The Joy of Reading

The Joy of Reading

A Poem by Frieda P

I study you
I  devour you like a book
I interpret you in Braille
that tactile feel like fire and ice
your nuances seize my senses
like ice cream freezes the brain

You permeate my soul
like a sultry breeze of Belize
I breathe you in like
 smoke filled vodka martini bars
intoxicating my thrill sensors to a frenzied shrill
dance me to your inner core of secret lust
make me a prisoner
of all that  embodies you
wrap around me
like a serpent seeking that last breath
when I cease to exhale, take me in again

I smoke you like a fine Cuban cigar
lingering in the lungs
 and smarting the heart
when it's bad, it's oh so completely divine
let me feast
 from your body and spirit
I glory in every inch of your majestic beauty
I dine with gusto
 and lusty abandon
I drink in your essence, I taste you
lick my lips
 of your manliness
savoring
every
 last
drop
 of
 you

This was very erotic. Certainly nothing like the books I read and I have a library! (laughing) I do love the smell of books, their weight in my hand, the adventures and places they take me to. On the shelf beside me sit copies of Ray Bradbury, Mark Twain, Emily Bronte', Charlotte Bronte' (I love those Bronte' women) Daphne du Maurier, Jack London, O Henry, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Rudyard Kipling...but the REAL library is in another room. This sounds more like "The Joy of Sex" by Alex Comfort...a book I've never got around to reading. I'm more of a transcendentalist in that respect. (laughing) This was an excellent steamy read.

A beautiful poem. A talented writer take the reader on a journey and open the door to their imagination. You did. Great description led the reader to a very nice ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
