Old Fashioned Moves

Old Fashioned Moves

A Poem by Frieda P

 Dance me like I'm Ginger
and you're my Fred Astaire
old time Hollywood flair

Dance me in the moonlight
like old lovers used to do
twirl me while doves coo

Dance me slow, charm me off my feet
dance me so near
sing whispers softly in my ear

Dance me to the end of tomorrow's bliss
spin me lavish whilst I quake
then kiss me quick before I wake

Dance me like I'm Ginger
and you're my Fred Astaire
an old-time Hollywood movie
full of glitz and flair

Dance me in the moonlight
like old lovers used to do
twirl me while white doves
look on and thrill us with their coo

Dance me slow, charm my feet
hold me oh so near
sing, whisper softly as we glide
sweet nothings in my ear

Dance me to tomorrow's light,
spin me lavish whilst I quake
then kiss me deeply upon my lips
before I can awake.

Very nice... things are not like they use to be... to me this is symbolic for love me like people did back in the day, where loyalty was in abundance.

I actually don't mind the a-b-b pattern. It can be odd and hard to read, but this was nice. :)

Thanks Avy!
I like the sentiments here, but if you want me to be honest, I found the rhyme scheme kind of awkward. Maybe it's just me, but I am not a huge fan of the 3 line stanza a,b,b. It trips me up, but then again, I have 2 left feet and can't dance worth shite! I 'm with John on this one, sorry.
