Married Man

Married Man

A Poem by Frieda P

Married man, why do you entice me so
you promise me beyond the moon and stars
when we both know they're not yours to give
sweep me off my feet, dance me, romance me
pale azure moonlight is so thrilling and inviting
my mind plays a melody, an old tune of betrayal
have lived forsaken, been on the other side of midnight
I say without hesitation, 'sorry, my dance card is replete'
yet, I can't help myself but marvel at what 'could have been.'

sometimes, our feelings to someone are stronger than our control. let me say, love is sweet but at the same time it learns us how to be selfish. we get selfish when we love someone wanting them to be only for us. we love them to feel selfish twards us as well. this is the fact we try to ignore about love but it is real..
very nicely penned..

If this is personal No need to commit to a married man...Chances are if he's done it to her, he would probably do the same to you. Besides who wants to break up a marriage any way. Let them decide on their own without interference.

Hard to do when they're already committed, yep. Thanks hon!
Ah, the temptation may be there, but the consequences are usually that which causes more harm than good! This ole' gal has been around long enough to know it is not a good thing to give in to.......both sides are guilty if it happens. I feel so much compassion for the innocent person, either wife or husband when it does occur!
It is a good topic to write of so that we may think about it - before, of if it does happen! It is better to have a 'could have been' than a 'I am sorry it happened'!

Hahaha well you have a great imagination! Surely got me wondering! ;-)
I will never understand why a man or woman would go about "enticing" someone else while married to another. Oh, wait, I guess I am guilty of that too. It comes down to our selfish desire to feel that flush of pleasure that is part of those first few moments of creating a new relationship.

You did very well in capturing the hurt that is brought about by this selfishness.
Thank you for sharing it.

Looks like this sparked some debate and discussion! That's a good thing, and so was this poem. Too bad I missed out on all the fun.
