Fine Whine

Fine Whine

A Poem by Frieda P
"

That time when you can dye your hair blue or purple, be cranky and everybody expects you to be totally off the wall bat shyte crazy anyway.

"
Can I have some cheese with my whine please
you get older, life goes on fast forward tilt
but you're slower than that last bit of ketchup
mid-life is like halfway between Belize & Pluto
nouveau pauvre are my soul's twisted underpants
filled with the bubble wrap of black licorice laces
voices chanting in my head eat coconuts and do a line
squirrel monkeys dancing to 'i'm too sexy for my rants'
bend over backwards or forward it's much of the same
older isn't necessarily wiser unless you're a dead beatle
fine bordeaux wine, fiddlesticks, dust bunnies & flip flops
Oooooft, oodles of noodles, blow me...away, I've done my time

Just fell out of my head, it's in your hands now. Prompted by a lovely 16 year old muse that made me like a silly girl. :-P

At least you're honest. Enought whines drives one to wine and best it be a good bordeaux or merlot or beaujolais. The inevitable anti-gravity movmeent of middle age prompts the spectrum of thought and feeling and you encompassed most of them here. The truth is that middle aged women are the sexiest simply because they know how to be and all the whys that go with it. Great write, I enjoyed it very much.
