I get it, if you obey all the rules

you'll miss out on all the fun

but seriously, 'I've eyes of brown

My dog's name is Spot, I love frootloops'

doesn't blow my skirt up or float my boat

I hear you Frieda. While I agree that it may not be what you or I consider poetry, some people seem enamored of it, perhaps so they can let others know who they are, and feel understood? I thought that was what the *about me* page was for, but seems not. I just choose to not read it.

Great!! I ask just who has made the rules of poetry, and why should we be chained to this form, or that form when we just might be the one to impress with a new form. Poetry is self expression from the heart and soul of a writer, and so be it!! I like fruit loops too. Diversity is what makes the pen flow with indelible ink!!

Heh, very good, I would say. Poetry is poetry though, whether it is boring as hell or one of the most emotional and dramatic pieces you've ever read. Maybe what one considers boring is to another, or the writer, a work of art.

I guess, to each his own, I think poetry should be about intensity of feelings and self expression, not facts. I find facts on the internet or in the About Me section. Thanks for reading.
