Gypsy Soul

Gypsy Soul

A Poem by Frieda P

There's a gypsy in my soul
wandering and aimless still
heart of crystalline titanium
soul, a garden of lofty lavender
uneasy dreams, condors and butterflies
far off poisons and a raising phoenix
my chest compresses and heaves
translucent blue in it's scope
far off lands like cotton candy
I hear the drums, the flutes
pictures of atomic rainbows
flying mazes loom overhead
snowflakes burst into flames
restless doves coo urgency
seasons scheme to proselyte
foreigner in hasty slow motion
adversary takes a long naked drag
reluctantly see me as a stranger
the soul nods, subtly concurs

The soul of a gypsy...we are alike in this sense. I have wanderlust...never truly satisfied with settling down...I have been everywhere, and I have seen everything, and it's still not enough ;-) I enjoyed this piece very much. Thanks for posting it, Frieda...

Wow, this is so good and i love the line, "restless doves coo urgency.." awesome and not a single word feels weird, nor does it feel like anything is missing. Great write as always.

Hey thanks, great review. I think you start worrying though if my stuff doesn't feel weird. ;-)
That's some wild a*s far off lands you're talking about. Burning snow flakes. That's some messed up global warming right there. I think the pollution is bad enough in China for the snow to burn. Screw it i wanna go.

I heard a snicker come through loud and clear my friend! ;-)
Such a wild mix of gentle and rough, soft and hard...not an easy first read, nor should it be...something like this demands imagination and meditation upon...parabolic in that way...we have another winner :)
