The soul of a gypsy...we are alike in this sense. I have wanderlust...never truly satisfied with settling down...I have been everywhere, and I have seen everything, and it's still not enough ;-) I enjoyed this piece very much. Thanks for posting it, Frieda...

I saw the title, and immediately, Van Morrison began singing Into the Mystic. This takes us on a journey, dark, light...anxious and serene. Images from past, present, future...lifetimes of wandering hoping someday to find a place to truly belong.
Thought provoking write...

Ok I must be the only one who read this as confusion. I do wonder if some of the clues are in smoking a joint? The images are quite disturbing rather than the care free Gypsy, devil may care type. It is as always expressive and emotive and thought provoking.

Nope, maryjane wasn't here, just me and my tripped out mind. ;)
This poem is a veritable feast for the senses, your descriptions in every single line made this piece come to life vibrantly! Oh to be a gypsy, to not be anchored and stuck to one place but free as the wind, such a magnificent life that must be! I really enjoyed the imagery you presented with the "atomic rainbows" and the incendiary snowflakes. They made for a rather intriguing mental image. The ending was perfect as well. For what are gypsies if not wandering strangers? They observe, experience, then use their art to capture the surrounding world, and move on to the next location to do it all over again. Awesome poem here Frieda, I really enjoyed it!
