Last Word

A Poem by Frieda P

Hanging by the noose
cryptic farewells penned
that last breath of words

never wraps up loose ends

Very powerful, I liked how much emotion was contained within such brevity. Must be the pain inside someone committing suicide is so great that they feel rushed to the act, and such complex emotions would probably be very hard for them to pen in many cases....but for sure, a note left behind is never an equation to describe the properties of the soul (i mean soul in the secular sense)

Thanks so much LA, it was stinger for me, but it needed to be said.
A very striking piece. So short yet so strong... like arrows through the heart. It takes a certain charm and style to pull of very short poems like this and I have to say you did it very nicely. Good job. ^_^

Preach it sister!
There is always so much left to say, before we fade away.
I like these short reflective writes of yours. Profound and have impact on the readers day for sure.

Yell louder next time. ;-)
Wow. Simple and so bluntly true. Death lacks the finality or certainty that we expect.

Thanks Robin.
This makes me visualize a gruesome scene of the man hung and wetting himself. The misery leaking out to evaporate and rain back to become an ever-present solute in the endless depths of the ocean.
Nothing ever seems to actually get "tied-up".
A fine poem!
