Third Eye

Third Eye

A Poem by Frieda P

What is a third eye, what does it see
mine own eyes have played tricks on me
I see your lips move but the words don't agree
your brash behavior speaks volumes prolifically
your tepid incessant spewing leaves me listless
if I were but wiser I'd not envision this for me
the heart decidedly wants what the mind entangles

Caught up in the Ecstasy of sheer abandonment
the body responds and the eyes close their view
spiritually you've wounded all that we could be
enlighten me with your path of least resistance
the murkiness of heart's desire won't set me free
If love and rapture were insanity I'd be locked away
surely you've never tested the waters long enough to see

Such an emotional poem... I could feel sadness as well as a bit of defeat especially in the last line... the poem tells a tale of one-sided love where a person truly loved this person yet it was not returned and was taken advantaged of...

Good job, my friend. ^_^

I thought of how at times our day to day senses might not be enough. So we learn to turn inward; to heal or to just try and understand. There is this theory that today, shrouded in technology and far from nature it has become harder and harder to use that ''third eye''. Our instinct. I believe that is why at times we can feel so lost

Even with spiritual wounding when the third eye closes all divinity that's yours is returned to you.. A place of peace and solitude that not one person can touch..xo

kinda like Starbucks ya mean? ;P thanks little sis xo
I did not follow the poetic construct...?
Not sure if you were going to rhym or go free verse on me here.
The conceptual exploration was clear. I only needed one eye to see that but I used all three. Ha
I especially liked the last line if the first stanza. Your tired of playing games but your mind is just too caught up in it all to stop.
Enjoyable read.

Unrequited love, the poet has let the lover into a dangerous place, a place beyond the poet's heart. The poet has let the lover into the place where the poet keeps their heart, her spirit, her soul. Well done.

I'm really hesitant to say anything at all about your poem because I'd never be able to write one as good as this :/ But I didn't want to just read it and move on without first sharing my appreciation for your writing :) Sooo, I really like its rythm - if that's what it's called - and I say this because the first three verses (hmmmm, more like four) just caught my attention with the way they just sort of sounded when I read them... Anyway, well done with that :)
What I wonder is why you capitalized "Ecstasy". My analytical skills aren't that great haha :)

Multi layered and plural write. Takes the mind along its subtle pathways into a remarkable journey. The lacking in another so eloquently put.

sometimes we need to just close our eyes and feel in order to truly see. that's my take on things at any rate. of course, I tend towards OCD and over-analytical, so sometimes it is very difficult to close off that thinking part of the brain and to just close the eyes to that which is around me and to just live in the moment, fulfill the desire of my heart's call.

this provokes deep thought Frieda. I have a hard time sometimes with reading poetry like this, for my own perspective leaves me jaded.
