When I was a very young child, I used to read a lot to get lost inside myself, my favorite book was Wuthering Heights and I loved the character of Heathcliff. When I saw the film I fell in love with Laurence Olivier.

So often have I stood upon new shores, lifted to another place by imaginary characters. The power of the story to take us to another place...you have captured it well here. I can see you standing on the cliff's edge, your hair afloat, ready to take on the world with your imagination, the depths you have been required to plumb giving you the strength to withstand any wind. We should all be our own greatest hero!

I know, you're right, thanks Misty, seems like forever ago now, still much appreciated
The way you express your love, the want and need for this character is so brilliantly portrayed. The Imagery is amazing, every moment running through my head right now is like a dream, how you put it, "an epic journey" because you've captivated me the reader and made me imagine your dreams and get lost inside the wonder world with you. I haven't ever read the book, i'm not much of a reader, to be honest the most reading I've done in my life is on this website. But just knowing that the book/movie could have made you create something as beautiful as it, I'd say it must have been a great book/movie. I won't say i'll go read it because I know my limitations, i'm lazy as lazy gets. But yes, your poem was amazing and this was truly a great write, one of my favorites on Writerscafe.
Oh...those books...stood upon the moors many times..thinking I could mend Heathcliff...then I discovered Jane Eyre's Rochester... Your poem took me back great dreamy piece !

Hi Frieda,
This has a lovely etherial feel to it, somewhat whimsical and Bronteish indeed!
Can just imagine you windswept and soaked wet on the moors the grey English landscsape lit up by your cape of colours.
This took me back.. I remember dreaming those dreams and wanting so much to feel that passion and love in my life.. but then I got married lmao.. (whoops did I say that out loud) hahahaha.. Thank you for allowing me to step back into those beautiful moments of memory..xo
Ah, Laurence would have loved you . . . . if he hadn't been gay.
Apart from that minor detail, there was a whirling whisp of beauty within this that cold not be denied and I enjoyed being there for that moment . . . . even if you weren't dancing with me . . . . even though you prefer gays . . . . but it was a delightful read that I truly enjoyed.

i really like this poem, Frieda...despite the fact i couldn't stand Olivier as an actor...but this dance with him? good stuff.
my response if this poem were a movie....the movie was good, i really liked her in it...Olivier? nah, same as always...
but you capture a certain eerie feeling that makes me think of another ghost story from 1944..."the uninvited" with Ray Milland.
