I overheard someone say 'death is for dead people'

that might be profound if it were not so absurd

death lives amongst the living regularly

loss, betrayal, obsessions, recessions, addictions

madness perpetuating the death prattle

people breathing in a stillness with no life

madness choking the life out of survival

people, places racing towards a grand finale

dipping one foot in the pearly skies, keep it real

death is popular when there are no tomorrows

there's dead and then there's quasi -- dead

some people are just lucky, listen to the music

wake up and smell the coffee

no one gets out alive anyway

Wow, I just got finished adding Author's notes to a poem I did some time back,
A Moment of Contemplation, then this was the first write I read after that. To say I understand what your saying would be a huge understatement. Thank you for sharing, this write spoke to me in deep places.

Death is just a doorway?
Maybe it's a gift?
Some use IT to threaten.
Life is just a rift.
Some say a beginning.
Others think the END.
At most, death is a phase.
Mostly, not your friend.
Just my take... Sorry I had to defy death. Ha.

Ah, wake up and smell the roses and then sleep on a bed of thorns, rip out your heart and sew it back in again........I am all too well familiar with your words - jam packed with reality, interlaced with wisdom to get up and move on, until we "drop over" from the intensity of it!!
